We’re excited to launch our 2026 Election Campaign Pack, giving our members the tools to engage with candidates standing in the upcoming Senedd elections.
Following the launch of our manifesto, From Barely Surviving to Truly Thriving, in December, this is the next step in making sure disabled people’s voices are heard loud and clear during this election.
What’s in the Campaign Pack?
The pack includes everything you need to take action:
- Our Disabled People’s Manifesto
- A “5 Key Calls at a Glance” graphic
- Our public Commitment Card
- A Member Checklist
- Template letters for DPOs and disabled people
- Guidance on how to use the Five Calls and Commitment Card
How to use the Campaign Pack
Step 1 – Share the Five Calls
Use the “5 Key Calls” graphic when contacting candidates, attending hustings, or posting on social media. It clearly sets out what disabled people in Wales are asking for.
Step 2 – Ask for a public commitment
When you contact a candidate, ask them directly:
- Do you support Disability Wales’ Five Calls?
- Will you publicly commit to them?
Step 3 – Ask them to complete the Commitment Card
To ensure transparency, we are asking all candidates to complete our public commitment card form.
This will help us show disabled people across Wales exactly where candidates stand on our manifesto calls.
What can you do?
Make your candidates aware and ask them to commit to our Five Manifesto Calls.
Send a letter to candidates standing in your area. You can download and use our template letters for DPOs and individual disabled people to send. Ask them to support the Five Calls, and commit to their disabled constituents.
As candidates are announced, please send the template letter to those standing where you live. You can follow candidate announcements here.
The Senedd also has useful information about the election and voting.
The Senedd is currently running “Understand Your Vote” events, both in person and online, which you may wish to attend.
In person: Teithiau’r Senedd | Senedd Tours
Online: Teithiau’r Senedd | Senedd Tours
This election matters
1 in 5 people in Wales are disabled. Our voices, our rights, and our futures must not be ignored.
Together, we can make sure candidates know that disabled people are organised, informed, and ready to use our votes as our voice.
If you need support to engage with candidates, contact us at info@disabilitywales.org.
Let’s move from Barely Surviving To Truly Thriving.
