IDDP 2019

List of activities on 3rd December 2019

The International Day of Disabled People is set by the United Nations to celebrate disabled people’s success in challenging disabling barriers and empower disabled people worldwide to fight for equal rights (UN 2018). On 3rd December – every year since 1992 – disabled people and disability organisations gather together to support disabled people’s rights.

This year’s theme focuses on empowering disabled people for an inclusive, equitable and sustainable development as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Barod CIC, in partnership with Social Firms Wales and self-advocacy organisations will be sharing some short films and factsheets based on their DRILL funded research project about disabled people starting a business and earning a real wage. Follow Barod on twitter: @Barod_CIC

Barod will also be running two webinars on Tuesday 3rd December. The 10.30am webinar is entitled “Crossing the bridge into business: making business support work for disabled people” and the 12.15pm webinar is entitled “Potholes, barriers and bridges: how we coproduced a two-year action research project”.
