Tuesday 31 January at 10am on Zoom.
Language is fundamental to the Social Model. The words we use to describe others says a lot about the way we think of them. The use of certain words can create long- term barriers for disabled people.
In this event we will be talking about social model language and why disabled people use certain words to discribe ourselves and our impairements or health condition. We’ll be explaining why we say Disabled Person, not Person with a Disability and the long lasting negative impact disabled people experience from regular language which is not Social Model orientated.
