Dateline (2010 – 2013) then (2013 – 2014)

Way to Go was a 3 year project, which included 4  stages.  This project has been extended for a further 12 months, until March 2014 (thus entering stage 5).  The planned outline is as follows: The project consists of three parts, a feasibility study, an interactive toolkit based on the paper based toolkit and two workshops of three days each.

In short

Part 1. DW will commission a feasibility study to explore the potential for Access Audit and Inclusive Design training & services and production of an Audit “App”.

Part 2. DW intends to extend the development of the Toolkit. DW plan to design and develop an online Interactive Toolkit aimed at disabled people and their organisations.

Part 3. DW will plan and deliver workshops in two areas across Wales – South/West and North Wales. These Two workshops will consist of three days each. (spanning 6 days in total). to take place at the start of next year – Dates to be confirmed. A Feasibility Study will be carried out by Access Design Solutions UK limited in Partnership with Lewis Consultancy to be completed before Christmas 2013.

Progress so far

The Feasibility Study is underway, Access and Design Solutions UK Limited and Lewis Consultancy are liaising with former Way to Go participants, sending out questionnaires, collecting results and feedback the reporting the findings.

The website designer Jeremy Clulow of ‘Webs Wonder Design’ has created an online the Interactive Toolkit which will go live the same time as the new website in time for DWs AGM on 17th October 2013.

Day 1
This session is designed for access and disability group members who want to make their voice heard when communicating with their Local Authority planning department.

 

Day 2
This session will follow on from the first session. Following up tasks when using the Interactive Toolkit in ‘real’ life.

Day 3
In this session we will consider the findings of the feasibility study and discuss possible options for the future opportunities linked to training and / or ‘App’ development etc in order to build further on the success of the project.
