Disability Wales travel to Geneva

Geneva! Disability Wales and a delegation of DPOs are giving evidence to the UN Committee on the Rights of Disabled People next week.
Each step of our journey depends on our rights being met along the way. Taxi, to bus stops, crossing roads, accessing shops, communicating with service providers, booking special assistance, getting on and off a coach, having access to employment, access to opportunities to make and exercise choice in our daily lives.
Our rights as disabled people to access all of these things depends on the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled People.
We are heading to Geneva to defend those rights and hold our Government to account for the ongoing failures to implement them.

Arriving in Geneva

#SpecialAssistance at #Geneva was impressive. Took us off the plane by minibus through to separate passport control, got our baggage for us and then took us to the train station and made sure we got on the train safely.
