Actions
Direct payments and self directed support are important tools for achieving some of the main aims of Independent Living. Since availability of these tools is currently a postcode lottery, particularly in Wales, we are working to raise awareness of, and increase access to direct payments and individual budgets as a key action of the forthcoming Disability Wales Independent Living Strategy.
Disability Wales also demands:
· that all disabled people have a right to Independent Living, and
· that this right must be enshrined in primary legislation.
