DW Networks

Welcome to the Disability Wales Networks pages

Disability Wales is setting up and supporting three regional Networks in the North, Mid and West, and South Wales. The Networks are for local disability groups/organisations to share information, tactics and strategies, receive training and organise joint campaigns on barrier removal.

Some local authority areas have a Disability Access Group or Disability Forum/Coalition. The three Networks are not intended replace these but bring them together across larger geographic areas. They will provide a valuable forum for discussion on disability related issues. But, more importantly, they are an opportunity to act together to bring about change.

The Networks are pan-disability: in other words, they are open to a range of organisations representing people with physical impairments, people with learning disabilities, people with mental health conditions, people with sensory impairments…

The Networks will help Disability Wales create policies that affect the lives of all disabled people. They will give Disability Wales the tools and information that help us change policy at all levels of government.

Disability Wales’s strength lies in our member groups and Networks. They make it possible for us to focus on matters that affect disabled people in their day-to-day lives.
