Other Campaigns
Disability Wales supports a number of campaigns in Wales, the UK and at an international level which reflect our Aims and Objectives.
For example:
- we support organisations in Wales that are campaigning for rights on issues such as an end to discrimination of the grounds of gender, race, sexual orientation, age and belief.
- we support campaigns run by organisations at an UK level: for example changes to benefit legislation through our membership of Disability Alliance.
- we support a number of campaigns organised by the European Disability Forum
- we support a number of campaigns organised by Disabled People’s International
At some point after the general election in May, depending on who wins, the will be a referendum on a European Constitution.
Although Disability Wales has no policy on the Constitution, a number of elements will affect the lives of disabled people. Whether you decide to vote yes or no, making an informed choice is important. The European Disability Forum has a comprehensive guide to the Constitution – check it out!
