Paul Swann

Paul is responsible for the development and delivery of DW’s Independent Living Strategy including policy development, campaigns and representation; to seek the greater involvement of disabled people in the design, delivery and evaluation of services that support independent living.
"I joined DW in February 2009 having been an "ally" of the disabled people's movement during my five years as a Commissioning & Planning Officer within Wrexham Social Services. One of my main achievements there was working with disabled people and other partners to develop a local plan to improve access to independent advocacy. I have a "hidden" impairment myself, having been diagnosed with Chronic Tension-Type Headache. I also provide advocacy and support to someone who is on the Autism Spectrum, so I have a special interest in both neurological conditions and autism. Outside of work I’m a big fan of experimental and alternative rock music and attend as many gigs and festivals as I can."
